  1. Call to order:
  2. Public Comment/Open Meeting Rules: Clarification of the official legal rules of participation in an open meeting.
  3. Approval of Minutes: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the minutes from the Clarksburg School Committee Meeting dated March 7, 2024.
  4. School Building: Updates regarding the ongoing plan to complete a building project in June to address the ADA accessibility issue with a chairlift on the back stairwell.  School building safety and security updates, as well as transportation challenges.
  5. Clarksburg Select Board Meeting Update: Discuss recent communication between the Town Administrator, Select Board Chair, and Superintendent in reference to a joint meeting with the new finance committee (and Select Board) to review the FY25 budget draft.
  6. Financial Statement: Suggested Motion: Move to approve the current financial statement for FY24.
  7. Business Administrators Report: Review and discussion in reference to the draft of the FY 25 school budget document
  8. Principal’s Report: Principal Cote will provide an update on school related events, activities, student learning, and staffing.
  9. Superintendent’s Report:
  10. School Committee Business:
    1. New Business:
      1. School Calendar: Principal Cote will review the 2024-2025 school calendar proposal with the committee, followed by discussion and a vote to approve.
      2. School Improvement Plan: Principal Cote will review the school improvement plan with the committee, followed by discussion and a vote to approve.
      3. Prekindergarten Program: Updates on the progress to get all families up to date with monthly payments for the current school year.  Discuss options for hours, tuition, and enrollment during the 2024-2025 school year, including the recommendation from the school attorney to discontinue the practice of accepting non-resident students in the prekindergarten program.  The committee will vote to approve any changes for the 2024-2025 school year.
    2. Ski Program: Discuss concerns about the ski program that have arisen in reference to equity, loss of learning time, and impact on school each Wednesday for six weeks.
      1. Continuing Business:
      2. Admin Assistant Position: Continue the discussion about creating a sub-committee to address this situation, along with looking at the teaching assistant position benefits.
      3. Non-union staff member request for a staff increase: Review the request for a salary increase by a non-union staff member during the FY25 school year.
